You may notice some major changes here at DBTSelfHelp.com. No, you’re not lost. We’re the same site, the same free Dialectical Behavior Therapy resource, but with an all-new look.
Our site was created in 2001 by Lisa Dietz, a DBT graduate. This is the first major site update since then. Lisa handed the site over to Alicia Paz, a DBT-trained therapist and her partner Mike Bodine for continued care. Mike and Alicia brought Kat Schultz, a DBT graduate, onto the team and they’ve all been working hard for over a year to get this update to you.
So what’s changed?
The Look
You’ve undoubtedly noticed this if you’ve visited DBTSelfHelp.com before. We’re green now! And sleek! And vaguely modern! Sequoyah Moore designed our new look based on everything the site has meant and continues to mean to those who use it. We hope you enjoy our new design as much as we do.
The Organization
We don’t know about you, but we found the original site a bit hard to navigate. We tried to streamline the way the pages are connected so that you can both get to the DBT skill you want to see and discover new skills faster. We have also revamped the Mindfulness exercises page so that the videos are easier to access.
The Content
Our content has all been given the once over and edited or expanded to make it even better, thanks to Kat. Many of Lisa’s original words remain but we’ve also got so much new material for you. Our digital Flashcards are new-and-improved and we’ve added an Encyclopedia for all that tricky DBT lingo.
The Blog
We’ve got an all-new blog! While we’ve transferred over some of the original guest posts, we hope to build a collection of new guest blog posts about DBT and related topics as well. If you’re interested in contributing, please visit this page.
